The Redskins were originally known as the Boston Braves when they joined the National Football League as an expansion team in 1932. Their owner was George Preston Marshall. He was also the first African-American quarterback to lead his team to a Super Bowl victory. Their third Super Bowl win came in 1992 in Minneapolis. The Redskins defeated the Buffalo Bills, 37-24. After this victory, the Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs retired after having served the team for twelve years. The Redskins have played in various home fields in their 75 year career.
