2008 season is looking great for the Giants and the SF Giants tickets. Giants are always looking to perfect their games. That is one of the reasons why they have the most prolific record of transferring and buying players. This last season, the Giants transferred Pedro Feliz, Ray Durham, Barry Bonds, and Rich Aurilia. They added Dave Roberts, Bengie Molina, and Ryan Klesko to their roaster. The biggest contract of season was the signing of Barry Zito for $126 million.

The Oldest

The San Francisco Giants are one of the oldest and most celebrated franchises in Major League Baseball. Founded in 1883, Giants so far have 47 members in the Baseball Hall of Fame. This is a major league record. In 1883, they were known as the New York Gothams. They got the name, Giants, in 1885. In 1905, they join the National League and went on to win their first World Series. Over the next fifteen years, fans saw the Giants play some great baseball. However, they did not win the World Series in these fifteen years. Still this had no dent on the sale of SF Giants tickets , then known as the New York Giants.

New York Giants

The New York Giants played some astounding baseball in 20s and 30s. They dominated the National League during this period. In 1958, the Giants moved to San Francisco. While they did not win any World Series championships after 1954, they were a force to be reckoned with. For most of the 70s, the Giants were under .500 score. The team was saved from moving to Toronto by Bob Lurie, who buys it in 1976.

In 1981, the Giants became the first NL team to have a black manager. In 1987, they returned to the World Series after a gap of twenty seven years. In 1992, Lurie sold the team to owners who moved it to Tampa. Peter Magowan stepped in to buy the team and kept it back in San Francisco. Obviously that was good news for the fans and as always SF Giants tickets were in great demand.

Best Players

The Giants have produced some of the best players in professional baseball. Bobby, Barry Bonds, Willie Mays, Mel Ott, Orlando Cepeda, Willie McCovey, Johnny Mize, Bill Terry, Carl Hubbell, Juan Marichal, Christy, Mathewson, and Gaylord Perry are some of the most prominent Giants. Great players and great games meant that SF Giants tickets have been always sold out.

The Giants have won five World Series championships, last one was in 1954. Since then they have appeared in three World Series championships- 1962, 1989, and 2002. With such a long history, the Giants have obviously played at many ballparks. However, their present home ground is the AT&T Park, where they have been playing since 2000. It has a sitting capacity of 41,503 baseball fans. With a beautiful view of the Bay Bridge, AT&T Park is the place to be in especially when the Giants are playing.
