With such a good record, fans are hoping that the Cincinnati Reds would shine. That is why fans have already started booking their Reds tickets.

History

The Cincinnati Reds are one of the most popular franchises in all of the Major League Baseball. Presently they play in the National League Central Division. The Cincinnati Reds were founded as an amateur club in 1863. They turned professional in 1869. In 1876, they became part of the National League. However, they were expelled from the League because they were found violating the League’s rules. In 1889, they again rejoined the National League and changed their name from Cincinnati Red Stockings to Cincinnati Reds.

The Cincinnati won their first World Series title in 1919. They won against Chicago White Sox, who were accused of throwing away the game. In 1938, fans who had the Reds tickets witnessed Johnny Vander Meer pitch back to back no hitters. That very next year he led the team to their NL pennant. In 1940, the Reds won their second World Series title.

1970s

The Cincinnati Reds are best remembered for the way they played in the 1970s. They were then nicknamed the Big Red Machine. Their championship teams during the 1970s were led by Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, Tony Perez and Pete Rose. George Foster was the star player in 1977 with 52 round trips, .320 batting, 149 RBIs, and 124 runs. He was awarded the Most Valuable Player title. In 1975 and 1976 they won the World Series titles.

The 1980s were not so good for the Reds; however, the fans were always there to support their favorite team. Reds tickets were always in demand. In 1990, they again went on to win another World Series title. The team has been losing in the past several years; however, the Great American Ball Park is always jammed packed with fans. They relocated here in 2003. It is one of the newest stadiums in the League. It has a sitting capacity of 42,000. It has the latest cutting edge technology, widest video screen in all of the Major League Baseball, and a beautiful view of the Cincinnati skyline.
