Seats to the satdium are perfect for football fans that are looking for some fighting football action. In keeping with their name, the Jets have been known for delivering some high-flying football, but they are also known for really sinking their teeth into the game.

The New York Jets are currently based in East Rutherford in New Jersey. They are affiliated with the National Football League and the American Football Conference. Their home games are played from Giants Stadium and they have four Divisional titles and one league victory to their name.

From Titans to Jets

The Jets were originally known as the New York Titans and even though the team was capable of playing good football, they were unable to attract the fans and audience that they needed. By 1962, the team was headed for bankruptcy and it looked like the time of the Titans was coming to an end. However, the team was bought in 1964, and the name was changed to the Jets. This was because the team's home stadium at the time was so close to the airport, one could hear the jet engines roaring during practice. Later on, the New York Mets and the New York Nets would name themselves to rhyme with the Jets.

Ticket sales really took off to a flying start in the beginning. The Jets seemed to whip up success almost immediately, when they signed on a football legend called Joe Namath. The turn around was extraordinary as a team that was almost on the verge of dying became one of the best teams in the NFL. From 1965 to 1969, the Jets would experience what would be known as their Glory Years, with 1968 being by far, their greatest year. It was during that year that the Jets, an AFL team at the time, would beat the NFL's Baltimore Colts, thus becoming the first AFL team in history to beat an NFL team in a World Championship Game.

The Heidi Game

In 1968, fans that were lucky enough to get their hands on NY Jets tickets missed one of the most notorious sporting incidents in television history. By then, many fans were reliant on the television to get their dose of football action, since NY Jets tickets were not always easy to come by. NBC was relaying the game and there was still a little over a minute to go- the station cut to a commercial and to the horror of football fans everywhere barring the West Coast, the game was replaced by the movie Heidi. Angered fans bombarded the station with so many calls that the switchboard collapsed. What made matters worse was the fact that they had missed the best part of the game, as they would learn the next day. This led to a new rule that ensured that stations relayed all sporting events to their conclusion.
