The Safeco Stadium has an extremely elaborate scoreboard system. This comprises 11 electronic displays and also has a hand operated system for those ‘just in case’ situations. The amount of information these scoreboards give you is truly phenomenal and you can even read the scores of the other major league games in progress anywhere else. Needless to say, there is enough information on individual players on these boards to fill a small book.

There is absolutely no chance that the game will not progress as planned at Safeco. The drainage is the most elaborate possible and the grass is positively pampered to grow with its own heated water elements embedded in the soil so that even though the area around may still be freezing cold, there is a healthy crown of grass at the Stadium. Not only that, the ground staff has planted six different types of grass to provide an ideal playing surface. Some may think that it is taking things a little too far but four types of Kentucky grass and two different varieties of rye grass but that is the seriousness with which the ground staff at the Safeco Stadium takes their playing surface.
