The Wachovia Center is the sports arena where the Philadelphia Flyers plays all its home games. The stadium is located at 3601 S Broad St., Philadelphia. The stadium was opened for hosting various events, including ice hockey games on August 31, 1996. The overall construction cost of the stadium was $210 million. For the initial two years, the arena was known as CoreStates Center (1996–1998). In the year 1998, the name of the stadium was changed to First Union Center. The stadium continued with this name until the year 2003. It is only since 2003 that this wonderful sports stadium is known as Wachovia Center.
For an ice hockey game, the maximum capacity of the stadium is to accommodate 19,519 tickets. For a basketball game, the maximum capacity is 21,600, while for an arena football game this number is 17,486.
