Atlanta Braves tickets are now available, as they start their 2008 season in March. Their spring training starts with a match against the Houston Astros. The Atlanta Braves has been one of the most consistent teams in the American League Baseball. During the 1990s and the early 2000, the Braves won fourteen consecutive division titles.

The Atlanta Braves are presently based in Atlanta, Georgia. They play in the Eastern Division of Major Baseball League. Florida Marlins, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, and Washington Nationals are the other teams in the Eastern Division. The Braves are also called by their nicknames- “the Bravos” and “America’s Team.”

The Turner Field

In 1997, the Braves moved to a new home arena- the Turner Field. It has a sitting capacity of around 50,000 for a baseball game. The Turner Field is located between Georgia Avenue and Hank Aaron Drive. In the 1990s, the team had been very successful and that shows in the booming sales of Braves tickets.

Brief History

The team that is called Atlanta Braves now was formed in 1871. Since 1901, the team has won three World Series titles and nine NL pennants titles. It is a team that has produced one of the best home run hitters in the baseball history- Hank Aaron. In 1974, Aaron hit his 715th career home run, thereby breaking Babe Ruth’s 39 year old record.

In 1965, the Braves moved to Atlanta. In 1975, the team was acquired by Ted Turner, who went on to add promising young players like Dale Murphy and Bob Horner. In the 1990s, Bobby Cox took over as the manager. The team then went on to win eight division titles, five NL pennants, and one World Series championship. Braves tickets were in high demand, as fans wanted to see Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux and John Smoltz in action.

The 1990s

The 1995 season was one of the most successful seasons for the Braves. It was in this season that they won the World Series. They defeated the Cleveland Indians 4-2. In 1996, Atlanta Braves made their fourth trip to the World Series. Braves tickets were sold out; however, the team lost to the New York Yankees. Again in 1999, the Braves made it to the World Series to be defeated again by the New York Yankees. Overall, in the 1990s, the team made it five times to the World Series finals.

The Braves have had a good season last year and they are looking forward to a great new season this year. Glavine, Smotlz and Maddux were awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. Fans will be glad to know that longtime Braves pitcher Tom Glavine is back this season. Plus, the team has a new general manager, Frank Wren. It will also be the first full season for the new owner of the Braves, the Liberty Media. The team’s present roster consists of some great players like Mark Kotsay, Chipper Jones, Mike Hampton, Chris Resop, Tim Hudson, and John Smotlz.
